Garden Room RestaurantGarden Room Restaurant

Real food. Real flavour. No fuss.

Food is one of life's joys, and in the Garden Room at Temple we celebrate the best of indigenous and international produce.

Takashi Miyazaki is head chef of The Garden Room Restaurant. Takashi, originally from Japan, has been working as a chef and living in Ireland since 2008. Takashi studied and trained as a chef in Japan. He began his career working in the world renowned 5 star Hotel Nikko Fukuoka (JAL) in Japan where he cooked for many high profile people including Rod Stewart, Sting and former French president Jacques Chirac. At the Hotel Nikko, Takashi specialised in cooking fusion style food which mixed two very different tastes: French and Japanese cuisine.

He later moved to Okinawa in Japan, where he explains there is a vast difference in culture and cooking technique. There he broadened his culinary skills, learning new methods and styles which he still carries with him today.

Takashi is passionate about foods from all over the globe but in particular Japanese food. He has developed a unique way of cooking in which he incorporates healthy and subtle Japanese cooking techniques and flavours and blends these with traditional Irish dishes to create a mouth-watering fusion of flavours. Takashi began working in Temple as head chef in November 2010 and brings variety, healthy insights, a touch of his own culture and something different to the table.

Takashi is ably assisted by talented local chef Alan Devlin and pastry chef Jacinta Gallagher.

Good food, in variety, and enjoyed in convivial surroundings, nourishes body and soul.

You do not have to be attending the spa to enjoy the Garden Room restaurant. The restaurant is open Wednesday - Saturday. For more information please contact us.
